BROTHERS-THERE IS NO DOUBT

Check out these photos of Logan and Cameron. In certain situations they look identical. Recently I've been going through our pictures on the computer and WOW at times I had to look at the date of the picture to know if it was Cameron or if it was Logan.

ALONE AT LAST

As of 34 minutes ago I'm a mom with just one child for the next 5 days 4 nights. Jared took Logan and Cameron to see their grandparents in St. George. I'm jumping up and down right now. I'm excited to catch up on sleep, seeing friends (without having to go to Carl's Jr) and just some time to relax! However, being a mom of three kids I'm not sure I remember how to relax. I'm always going from one thing to the next. Or should I say one kid to the next. I survived the week knowing that on Saturday I'll be able to sleep "when the baby sleeps", eat when I want to eat and just do whatever I want (yes Jace is work but he is still in that lump stage where he sleeps, eats, and is VERY portable). HMM I was just thinking, this is the first of many many "Dad and Son" trips. I'm going to LOVE having three boys!!!

Does it matter:

Ok, so does it really matter where the baby sleeps, as long as he is sleeping? Jace loves his bouncy seat. He does not like his crib. If I place him in his bouncy seat he goes to sleep on his own with just a little fussing if his pacifier comes out. He's asleep within 20 minutes and will stay that way for two hours at a time. If I place him in the crib, no such luck. He will cry and cry and cry. He hasn't "fallen" to sleep in his crib yet. He will spit his pacifier out, refusing to take it and stay MAD until I pick him up. My answer is if he is goes to sleep happy and stays that way, why not!!

I FORGOT...

It's amazing how much you forget about having a baby

I forgot...
how many diapers you go through
that when you burp the baby you should always use a burp rag
the amount of laundry you have from being burped up on, peed on, pooped on
how long the nights are
how it seems night time feedings last a lot longer than day time feedings
how cute the other kids are towards the baby
how it's ok if everyone wears their p.j.s all day
how little they are
how big your other kids are getting
how cute a baby looks when they are sleeping

how you have to tell husbands what they can do to help instead of assuming they already know
how sad their cries are not matter what time of day
how your day now revolves around their schedule
how snugly they are

how everyone has to learn patience because you can't do everything at the same time
how you have to watch what your eating because it may bother the baby
how heavy the car seat carrier is!!!
how many things you can do one handed (because your holding the baby in the other hand)
how excited you get when you get three hours of consecutive sleep
how you instantly have so much love for the little one your holding

18 Days Old

What a bundle of joy! Jace (so far) is a really easy going baby. He eats, has awake times, and goes to sleep. The only time he cries is when I change his diaper or when he wakes up to eat. In this short of time he has already gained almost 2 pounds-weighing 7lbs 7 oz at his two week appt. I was really happy b/c when he was only three days old he was only 6 lbs 1 oz. Here are a fun few pictures...

My sister Marsha. She was in Costa Rica when Jace was born-hence the nice tan she has.

First bath in the bathtub. Jace loved sitting in the warm water.

Easter Eggs

Dying Easter Eggs...My mom brought over 50 eggs to color. I thought this would take a good amount of time for the kids to color all of them. Little did I know, Cameron had another idea-he put as many eggs as he could in one bowl. It was just a matter of minutes before all 50 eggs were dyed.

First Hair Cut

While out getting milk today, we stopped off at Fantastic Sams to get Cameron's hair cut. I thought about having him grow his hair long but it was getting way to funny looking for me to endure. Cameron did an awesome job letting the girl cut his hair.

One day down the rest of our lives to go...

I made it through the first day without a second pair of hands. Our day went really well. Though it started way to early (Jace ate at 4-Jared left at 5:30 & Logan was up at 6:20!!!) I managed to take all three to the Dr.'s while Jace got his last bilirubin checked. Logan and Cameron played great with each other all morning. Thank goodness for the nice weather today! By the mid afternoon I was running out of steam and my lunch showed it, I had a salad and two peanut butter cups (thank goodness for those extra 500 calories I'm burning by nursing). I tend to eat sugar when I'm tired. Peanut butter cups are my favorite treat, I can never just eat one, in fact, I freeze them so that I can't eat the whole bag at one time :) In the late afternoon I was able to get a small nap which has given me a boast of energy for the rest of the night. Jared is home being such a great dad, after a LONG day at work he is outside playing ball with his little ones. I'm truly lucky.

The honeymoon is almost over

I have one more day to enjoy having Jared home. This past week it has been wonderful to have an extra pair of hands to help with the kids. The part I've liked most is being able to sleep in a little. On Monday I will be on my own with three little ones. I imagine the hardest part of my day will be the early morning. Jared gets up at 5 and leaves by 5:30. Logan wakes up at 7 and Cameron usually is up by 7:30. This past week I have been going to sleep around 11:30 and waking up every two hrs averaging about 4 to 5 hrs a night. It seems I'm surviving on so little sleep because I've been taking a nap in the early morning and late afternoon. Next week will be interesting! I'm thankful that Logan goes to preschool and on most days that Jared gets home by 4 . I'm sure we will survive, even if it means watching a few extra movies just so I can rest my eyes for a few minutes.

Jace is already over a week old. This week has flown by! Jace has a little jaundice-I've had to get his tiny foot poked every other day to make sure the bilirubin levels are decreasing; which on Friday they were. He is eating very well. He will take the pacifier during the day but at night would rather nurse to sleep. I'm trying to treausre every moment with him. He will only be this tiny for only a couple more weeks.

Logan and Cameron have been great all week. They love holding him and interacting with him when he is awake. They both have been big helpers with throwing away the diapers or getting something from his room for me.

I'm feeling really good. One of the best parts of having a baby is that you have a reason for all your friends to visit. I love all you guys! Thanks for making the time out of your busy lives to feed us, and just come over to chat. I'm very thankful for each and every one of you.
