Slow Motion

This week is moving in slow motion. I feel like each day is dragging! This past weekend Grandma Laura came to visit. She just returned from a two week vacation in Italy. After looking at the pictures I KNOW I was born to live/visit/breathe there. I love pasta, I love 80 degree weather and I love the idea of strolling down a cobble stone road. Italy sounds delightful. There are small cafes everywhere. I absolutely love eating outside and taking my time to enjoy a nice meal, drink, or dessert. I wish I could go there tomorrow.

Week Highlights

This week...

Logan and his friend Zoe made cupcakes. They both loved licking the spoon and getting chocolate all over their face.

Logan also made two new friends at the splash pad. One was a boy, the other was a snail.

Jace turns 3 months! Can you believe that he is three months old. I can not. He loves being on my lap and watching my face. He tells me stories by cooing. He has starting to laugh. He is still waking up at night but I'm hopeful that when he starts eating rice cereal this will help him sleep a little longer. He is sleeping better than my other two ever did. The other night he did a 8 hour stretch. This past week Jace discovered his hands and can't keep them out of his mouth.

Cameron is hilarious. His new word this week is AWESOME. He loves finding bugs and making them his little friend. He will carry around a worm for hours. One day I heard him telling the worm stories about the thunder and his cat. Below he found a grasshopper and wanted to take it on a walk with us.

On Friday the weather looked promising and I took the kids miniature golfing. I loved watching them run free along the golf path. I enjoyed feeling the warm sun and being with all three of my little guys.

A FEW THINGS

Cameron is a singer. He always has been. When he was a baby he would sing on our walks. Now he makes up songs as he is playing, eating, or going to sleep. Recently he has wanted me to make up the songs with him. It is a good thing he doesn't realize I can not sing. We make up songs about the moon, cats and dogs. I love hearing his little songs.

One day Cameron told me he didn't want to eat the triangle. I told him ok but where is the triangle? He pointed to a piece of watermelon that was cut into the shape of a triangle. Glad he is recognizing his shapes.

Last night when Jace was laying next to him I asked him, "Cameron what is the baby's name?" He replied, "Kitty" I laughed and said, "No his name is Jace." "No Mom it's Kitty the baby."

Learning how to bait a fish hook.

Last weekend we went to the air show at HILL AIR FORCE. Apparently I went as a kid but I don't remember going. The kids LOVED watching the airplanes zoom through the sky. It was fun to get out and do something other than watching Sponge Bob :)

Sitting under a plane for shade.

Logan and Dad checking out the jets.

Jace did not like how loud some of the planes were. I had to get this picture because he has the cutest sad face!

Jace is no longer a newborn. He is just about three months and growing, growing, growing. When I look at him I'm excited and sad. I'm excited to see his personality emerge but sad that it is happening so quickly. He has started to giggle just a little. He likes to lay on his belly and is trying hard to flip from his back on to it. He enjoys Logan and Cameron and will search the room for them. I love looking at him. My heart lights up when I see him smile.

Last night we tried out a new babysitter with Logan and Cameron. Jared and I took Jace on a date :) Jared says to me, "So how much does she charge, $10 an hour?" I started to laugh and said "no, it's only around $4 or $5." He thought I was kidding. "Wow, why don't we go out more often?" My thought exactly!

Logan's Graduation

Graduation Day!!!

Last Friday Logan graduated from preschool. He will be going to kindergarten next year. He turns 5 at the end of July. He is more than ready for kindergarten. He is very clever and is always trying to figure out how things work. One day he and Jared were playing with some hand held radios. Jared was upstairs and he was downstairs. He thought it was the neatest trick that he could talk to Dad and be able to hear him. He told Jared that it was magic. Then he said, "Ok Dad I'll tell you how it works. It's like electricity going in a cell phone. Things go in cell phones and then come out the other cell phone. They are like phones but they just can't take pictures." That was a pretty good explanation.

Today he told me how rain works. He said "that the cloud soaks up the rain like a giant sponge. Then the wind wrings it out of the cloud and it comes down on us." I love his brain works! I couldn't of explained it better myself.

When we went to Target this past week he stood by the automatic doors eyeing them very closely. He then said that he figured out how they open on their own. He told me "there is a little robot guy above the door and he can see us. When there is a person he pushes the button and it opens the door for them."

At the splash park he was intrigue with how the buckets of water filled up and then tipped over. He ran over to me with his little arms out, "How does the water splash down?" I told him to look really closely. "Oh I see the sprinkler fills the buckets up and then when they are full they wobble and tip over."
Wow! I wish watching water filling up buckets entertained me as much as it did him.

On Sunday we went to a lake in American Fork canyon. We didn't know it was going to be a little windy and cold. Cameron didn't mind, he just wanted to fish. Logan hated it. All I had was a couple of baby blankets to wrap him in. He said to me, "Why does all the people around us have a coat and we don't? I think that is why the fish aren't biting, they are cold. They come up and feel the air and say, I'm cold I'm going back down in the mud. Mom you should really feel the air first before we go anywhere. Then you'll know if we need coats"

I love how he is constantly thinking and asking questions. Our house would be very quiet without him. I hope his teacher is ready for such an inquisitive little guy.
